Tempted as I am to say imdb.com....here's my take on the children's TV show:
Once before Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon, children's animated "cartoon" TV was written and drawn out by talented people who weren't crack addicts. From their talents, classics like the salvo of Warner Brother's characters (Bugs Bunny, Tweety, Road Runner....etc, etc.) came to iconize Saturday morning TV viewing.
Children's TV show producers sought to create shows that went beyond the standard cartoon types....dabbling with the emerging video taped technology.
Enter H.R. Puffnstuff. The story centered around a human kid named Jimmy, who magically (and accidentally) fell down a hole and into this wonderland of freaky characters....where he befriends the luvable large "dragon" named H.R. Puffnstuff.
Each episode story line, fun as they were to view, carried a simple but clear good story moral line--something today's TV shows fail to even mention.
Maybe it's not such a bad idea to imdb.com search for H.R. Puffinstuff and The Banana Splits, another flippy hip early 70's children's TV show.

All I remember is Witchie Poo, the witch. Also part of the song HR Puff n Stuff, where you go when things get rough. HR puff n Stuff, can't give a little 'cuz he can't give enough (or close to that)
