my toes are really long... what would give the allusion of them being shorter?

Deep, rich colors may help make your toes look shorter - depending on the size of your nail beds in relation to your toes' overall length.
ex) deep wine or burgundy, dark purple
Don't wear deep colors if your toe nails are tiny because the nails will look even smaller.
Since, it's summer though I'd suggest soft pastels or a French pedicure that won't draw lots of attention to your feet in sandals.

well, you could always go to the store and get a butcher knife... just kidding (if you do that, dont blame me). Since I paint models and the whole point of that is to give illusions, you could do this. Start the paint (lets just say red for now) at the base near the skin and go towards the end, but stop athe the length you want your toe, then do a thin line of black were it stops. Hope that helps!

LOL....i must say i've never ever heard of this before but now that u have me thinking....
u should prob. not polish them..i mean to add polish would be to bring more attention to them....
just go clear for awhile....try that out.

maybe try a dark color
