I personally love emo people and i respect their music. Most people classify me as emo. But why is that so bad?

THEY DON'T ALL CUT THEMSELVES! Anyone that thinks that needs to shut up because there are probably people you know that cut themselves and they're not "emo." People just don't talk about it.

Meh. If I were young and skinny these days, *I'd* be called emo I suppose.

Back when I was a kid, I was called other things though. Mamma's boy. Crybaby. Sensitive. Queer. And lots of other things that aren't fit for an all-ages crowd.

But I digress, there is a point here, somewhere.

Oh, yes....nobody likes a poser, or a role-player, unless the person is *Very* good at it. And that is the pisser with these labels that music companies put out there. For every emo person who is out there whose life *genuinely* sucks and who has cried so much that their tear glands no longer work right, there are half a dozen "trendy kids" now who just see it as a *style* or a game to play. It's not a scene any more, it's a damned arms race. :p *lol* It's like....once a natural phenomenom or group of people become *popular*, they attract the label and the label attracts the "trendy kids".

The same thing happens to "gangsta". And B-boy breakdancers. And goths. And headbangers. And glam/disco people (yes, both of them!). ^_^ And country/western fans.

And of course, this annoys people both inside the "scene" (who might not really like the sudden influx of clueless noobs) and outside of it (who have no clue and don't want one).

Geez...sorry to go on like that. ^_^ But I hope this helps a little. Thanks for your time.

nicely, in intense college and such this is alright to set an "photo" and slot in... yet once you get out into the real international... this is basically tacky. no individual will take you heavily once you pass for a job. convinced, some "emo" aptitude will be ok (a pair of earrings, possibly some black pinstripes in a vest), although the completed blown emo look is so youthful, immature and stereotypical. The "emo" look is tricky to advance up and mature in. this is like anybody is hiding from the international extremely than embracing life, growing to be up, and transferring on.

i personally dont have nothing against emo people, but i just dont like the fact that they solve their problems with cutting themselves and that they are always emotional. Other than that they have cool hair.

A large majority are posers who think because they dye their hair black, or some neon color that they're emo. That's what ruined emo. All the fake posers who put on eye liner and guy liner, and think that's emo. It was cool back in 02-03, but there are WAY too many posers now.

I don't hate them or have anything against them. I just think it's rather annoying to have someone sit around complaining of how bad life is and acting like it's the end of the world and that their life is terrible. I'm not happy a majority of the time, but I pretend to be. They think they have the hardest lives and feel they want to end it. They don't seem to get that everyone has challenges and that everyone's life sucks at one point or another. They think it makes them special.

It doesn't matter what other people feel and think about you.It matters what you feel and think about yourself.
My eldest daughter and most of her friends would be classed as emo.
I can only go on by what I know of my daughter and her friends. All that rubbish about all emo's cutting themselves is a load of hogwash. To me my daughter and her friends are a happy go lucky bunch of people and I couldn't ask for a better crowd for my daughter to be friends with.

I personally don't have anything against it. I guess some people just aren't able to accept that "emo people" have a different style!;)
