80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

No one can force another to accept the evidence that we are a product of an intelligent designer, but to do so makes the meaning of life so much easier to understand.
After coming to appreciate the love that made our existence a reality, it's simply a matter of learning what course will make our designer happy.
Such wisdom demonstrated in our behalf makes our creator worthy of praise and honor... which is the reason we are here. And the reason we should all learn and appreciate the answer to your question.

The meaning of life is actually quite simple, and we often take this question too far into context. If there is a god, which there certainly has to be, he would not be a selfish god and want everyone to praise him and kiss his feet. He simply created the universe and space for life to flourish and for everyone to simply help each other out. Humans help each other out far more than we will ever realize and this is what god wants us to do. I personally do not believe in a heaven or hell, but who knows it's possible. The plain and simple truth to this question is that we are here to help each other out, be happy and to reach out to everyone we see.

I think life is a test. It lets humanity choose their ultimate fate.If you follow the christian religion and live life the way the Bible instructs you pass the test and move on to heaven.
How ever, If you live a corrupt life,or are not a follower of Jesus Christ, you fail the test and spend eternity in hell.
fortunately it is easy to reform, simply ask god himself for forgiveness and accept Jesus Christ as the king of kings, and you will have a happy eternity ahead.

Life itself is filled with meaning. Every prayer counts. Everything you do counts. Every word you utter matters. Even every thought that enters your minds leaves an eternal mark. Your soul is the product of everything you do, say and think.
Therefore the meaning of life is found in the care and nurturing of your soul. Do not blemish your soul with negative energies. Seek truth, practice love and relish everything in this world that is beautiful. In doing so you shall find enlightenment.

To serve God, help people, and make this place a better place to live in. But mostly to serve God and let the world know that He is coming and to get ready.
