I mean if they really don't like it, can they refuse to be in the show or movie? Iam wondering that if I become an actor someday, I don't want to have to be in a movie that I don't like.

You would only be obligated to do a project for which you had made an agreement- a contract. If you violated the agreement, then you could potentially be sued.

I think it would depend on the contract you sign with the people involved in the TV show or movie. I've heard of actors turning down certain roles for personal reasons of some kind or another (such as they didn't like nude scenes), and find out later that the person who DID accept the role won an award for it. Always do what you feel is right for you--that is what you were given a mind for.

Involuntary servitude was abolished by the XIII Amendment. No one can force you to do a certain job (unless you're in prison or the Army)

As an actor, you always have the option to refuse a role if you don't care for it. It may affect your ability to get other roles, but you can do it.

Think of yourself as a sub-contractor.

There's a job out there. It's offered to a bunch of people including you. If those offering the job decide they want you, you still have the option to turn it down.

Unless you're under contract, there's no reason that you HAVE TO take any part.

I don't think you need to worry about that.
