It's a 1998 Acura 2.5 TL. I tried to get it out with a C-wrench, and my leatherman and it still won't come out. Now I've even twisted the key. The car itself can turn off, but I can't get the key out. How much will it cost if I go see a professional?

Try spraying some WD 40 around the key slot...use the little red straw that comes with the can to direct your spray into the keyhole as much as possible then wiggle the key a bit and see if that helps. If not...you can replace the whole ignition switch for about 60 - 100 bucks. get it and instructions at an auto parts store ....You'll have a new ignition key ...but hey ...your problem will be solved.

Are you sure your car is on Park, and you turned and pushed it counterclockwise all the way? Make sure all your appliances are off too. Don't try to get it out too hard, it may be permanently stuck. If you can start it, just drive to your nearest car maintenance station and see if they have a solution. It won't be that expensive, maybe $50 at MOST for their time, won't require a lot of materials, ask for a price quote first. GOOD LUCK! =D

You need a new ignition lock. This is what the thing is called that your key goes into. They are fairly cheap ($35) and not too hard to replace yourself and they come with two new keys. You can find them at most auto parts stores. And they can "loan" you the tools if you need them.

Is the steering wheel locked? Try turning the wheel and see if that works. That's happened a few times with my Kia. Just an idea.

if its a bad tumbler in the switch that's causing this,it will have to have a new switch in it,labor and parts on that one would be around 125.00 bucks to get this one working right again, they,ll have to remove the steering wheel to get to the switch to get it out,i may be wrong on the price also, sometimes the switch is around 60 bucks ,but labor on this usually runs around 75 bucks ,and takes at least a few hours to do ,you might get lucky and get that key out,but if it did have a tumbler fall in it,the key you have now may not start it again, good luck with it hope this helps.
