Yes it weirds me out. Just do it, don't tell me your going to do it. Do you want a pat on the back or something?

not at all cause as a christian i should know when a christian
say "i will pray for you" they are sure to do it cause you know
what if they don't they just lied. to top it all of i think even an
athiest shouldn't mind it .... notice on our paper money one
nation under God that means that we are all people that can
accept the fact that oh this guys cathlic or oh no this guy is an
athiest (not that i have a problem with athiest or cathlics im
just using an example) ... my roomates are athiest and
muzzlum and they don't mind me at all when i say "ill pray for
you" and why should you neccesarily hate that person when
he or she is trying to help you?

No, it bugs me when people SAY they will pray for you, and the truth is, they aren't.

It depends are if they are saying it because I just mentioned a problem I was having or if they are saying it because they think there is something wrong with me. The former I find nice, the latter I find most definitely annoying and callous!

As per my concept, you are always safe and lucky because of the prayers of your beloveds... If our preyers itself can give us comfort and luck & success, we all we be always busy on praying for ourselves.
If you get included in others prayers, its becasue of your good charector, sincerity after all you being a better human being..
All the best..
And hope you will include me also in your prayers...

I guess it's something that makes them feel better. If they believe praying for me helps, go ahead. I have no interest in religion whatsoever, but if someone else does, who am I to say they're wrong? So, to answer the question, when someone says "I will pray for you," I say "thanks, I guess."

It depends on who says it. If it is someone who means it, then it makes me feel good but if someone says it that I know is just saying it for the sake of saying it, then that honestly ticks me off

Not if they mean it. A lot of times it's just a space filler after you tell them bad news.
