I remember when I was over in London last, people had all kinds of dents on their cars.

even nice luxury cars like BMW's and Merceedes were dented up a little.

I mean if you even slightly scratch someones car here in the US, a report has to be made by the police and you have to pay BIG $$$ to this person for this minor repair.

Is it the same , you think in the UK?

why or why not?

I don't think things are such a big deal to them. I was watching a documentary called bowling for Columbine and there were theses statistics on it on how many shootings there were in a single year in each country and other surveys like that, the US was made to look insane.

Lot of the time I don't think people bother to stop. It happened to me I've had wing mirrors taken off and they just carry on driving. I must admist I did scratch a car parking once and I went and parked some where else. If it had been bad dent I would have left my number for them. Some people don't want to deal with the insurance and the hassle. I don't want to deal with it either. If you claim on your insurance you can lose you no claims bonus and have expensive insurance again. I have a dented my old car my self on posts, fences and walls and thing, which you don't need to mess around with insurance companies but lot of the time there is no point paying for the expense of having a dent repaired. I have dent on my new car that was like that when i brought it but to have it repaired will be expensive. Usually if someone does have accident unless it serious the police don't need to get involved. I am hoping to get the dent repaired but if I risk losing my no claims bonus, I will see about repairing it my self.

I think i have to agree and disagree a little. The way people drive around here is bad. Ever been to Phoenix Arizona? No. Otherwise you wouldn't have made this statement. I am not trying to be mean or anything but there there is no law against mobile chatting and driving at the same time.

Nope! Because the English don't put their cars on a pedestal like they do in America. The Englishmen considers a car as transportation and that's all, an American considers a car as some great investment,a status symbol,a icon or idol of which to worship and care for.

Probably not if cars like that were left scratched. I don't know how anyone could pay so much money for a BMW or Mercedes and not care enough to keep it looking new.

I work in a motor insurance underwriting department and i used to work in a motor claims department. The accident procedure in the U.K is actually a lot more stringent than in the U.S. Personal Injury claim wise the U.S spends 100 billion us dollars a year in injury claims, but your accident policies are a lot more lapsed.

you will wreck the engine in case you rigidity with a burst radiator. you will could desire to get it towed to the storage. in case you are able to not have the money for to get it towed, then you definately definately can not have the money for a restoration.
