Watch the movie Black Hawk Down it will explain to You. The reason is because of a powerful warlord named Mohamed Farrah Aidid controled the distribution of food circulationg through Somalia and did not give the food to the needy. So the U.N and U.s interfered trying to take down the powerful warlord.

Alleged "Al Queda recruiters hiding in Somalia"
America wont enter Somalia after what happened w/ Black Hawk Down
So they send the neighbors: Ethiopia

Ethiopia and Somalia have no beef but the current political government of Ethiopia, chose to be a part of the Coalition of the Willing, the thing is it's justified, they have nothing to loose if they Didnt join, but they still have nothing to loose if they do, only things to gain
The problem with the US is that they don't really help places, they leech, they take and dont give.
Yes there is corruption in Somalia, no real government for the last...15+ years, and Ethiopia's government HAS NEVER been good, although America will "help" Ethiopia will be cut off from the US as soon as their campaign is done.
The real gain is with Ethiopia's relations with all the UN.

Done deal, its no good, but someone unfortunate benefits.

The US did not "invade" Somalia.
It was a police action and the US was there originally on a Humanitarian mission, 'Operation Restore Hope' I believe.

Only after the Militias killed some UN Peacekeepers did the Marines and Rangers get sent in on offensive missions.

Somalian people do no longer also have a central authority. lots of the capability is interior the palms of conflict lords. aside from that, are you particularly pleased with pirates working rampant alongside the Gulf of Aden? Do you particularly have faith the U. S. is attempting to place a central authority of its determination in Somalia? because of the fact it is not Clinton's plan in any respect. i'm no longer asserting we would desire to continually initiate a peace protecting venture consisting persons workers like we did in 1996, besides the undeniable fact that it could be loopy to allow the insurgents and pirates to run wild in a community the place 1000's of remote places commerce ships circulate each and on a daily basis. Or worse, take those ships' crews hostage. something would desire to be accomplished approximately this. @PINOYKURAKOT damn you're stupid...
