Unfortunately that is true for a lot of people. I have asked for people to thank our military on here and get far fewer answers than when I ask a different kind of question. My husband served 8 years during Vietnam. I got him a hat that reflects his service on the U.S.S. Kennedy. It is amazing how many people come up to him and thank him for serving. I do that also anytime I see our military. Please see my last answer. There are good people out there who remember. Alda
Not for the 10 but because you asked this question he finally talked to me about a few more things when he was in service. He was part of the VAW 125... I went and found his service emblems for him to wear. There really are many people who remember.

Unfortunately, like most holidays, it's just an excuse to do whatever. Most people celebrate Christmas, or at least take off work when given the choice, but there are so many who now leave Christ out of it. Same with Easter. And who is truly grateful at Thanksgiving? It's not just Memorial Day.

The same reason we cook out and drink beer on Independence Day. On Thanksgiving day, we sit around and eat turkey and watch football. There really isn't much of a difference.

It seems like that's just after the morning celebrations. All the parades and ceremonies are really early - they remember them then, and then go get trashed and barcecue because we were given the freedom to be able to do such things???
Heh, yeah, best answer I could come up with. I was thinking that this morning.

Theoretically, the female you're married to could desire to understand that a spouse could desire to be a girl interior the dwelling- room and a trollop interior the mattress room. Theoretically, of direction. Yeah, riiiight... EDIT: Beastly, now i'm bummin'; sometimes it sucks being here in Michigan. 8 months of iciness, 4 months of awful ice fishing...

every day is a good day to remember our freedoms that our soldiers have bled and died for....and the principles that have long been traditions of this country.....like not invading another country that has not invaded us (or at least is not a clear and imminent threat) and not using waterboarding and other techniques that you would consider torture if applied to you.....if you think i sympathize with terrorists think again.....

I think in some ways living and enjoying life is honoring those men who died defending us. Isn't that part of what they died for?

yea its a day to remember, but if you sont know anyone, its not as somber as to someone who does. and to many people, though its quite sad, dont care and just see it as a day off to party
