It all depends upon if your 11 month old's stomach can break down the milk enzymes. Some babies systems are not ready for milk and it can cause them problems with diarrhea or an upset tummy. I would say try and little and see what kind of reaction your baby has. It is remotely possible that your baby may have a reaction to the milk based product. Milk allergy isn't very common though. My daughter has been on whole milk since she was 7 1/2 months old (by doctor's orders) and she has been fine with it. She is now 9 months old and she eats Yo Baby yogurt, cottage cheese and cheese. She does fine with it. Good luck!

Some sources say you can add any dairy at 9 months as long as it doesn't replace breastmilk or formula. Some say you can offer yogurt or cheese ONLY at 9 months because the milk is partially digested. And some sources say absolutely no milk before age 1 due to allergies.
Use YOUR best judgment, based on your family history and your beliefs.

It would be best to hold off for a few months.Cheese can cause babies to be constipated very easily. If you do decide on giving cheese to your baby remember to provide alot of fluids with it.And limit the amount(provide small amounts at first) To be safe ask your baby's doctor- better safe than sorry

Gouda is a bit chewy, so watch you aren't giving it in too large chunks. And, as with any cheese, too much of it might cause constipation.

Yes, and cheese is a good food for older babies! Any cheese really unless you know that your baby is lactose intolerant.

I would hold off on that kind for a while. Too much cheese, period, can also be very binding. :(
