#1. Our enviroment is a complex puzzle that sustains ALL life forms. During the last century mankind has been categorizing different species that are intigrated into the community watching some species go extinct and this is causing us to realize how important they are to the ecology and balance of life itself.

#2. Childreen have thier parents and if they are lucky they will outlive their parents. During this metamorphasis, they realize how good their parents were and hopefully can treasure what was good in their deceased parents while healing what they would have desired to be better.

#3. A young person has the privalige to drive the family car and abuses this privalige by drinking and driving. This action causes thier licence to be taken, and prohibition from parents to drive car ... eventually they realize what they had (permit) was great.

Quite true. What we have becomes the norm and is not valued very highly. When we do not have these things then they are not the norm and have great value.

Plenty of food then a little waste is no problem. Little food and hungry you get every little crumb.

A good friend that has desidesd to no longer be with you is a real loss.

I can't think of a "phrase" right now, but sometimes, I keep singing "Wonder pets" song, through the aisles of a supermarket or even the song of "Caillou" when searching for cereals. Sounds odd and stupid, especially, if my two kids are in school.

It is one of those things that people say, and everyone expects will cause a positive change. The only thing it does accomplish is a very negative feeling when you do lose something or someone and you realize you had the potential to change and didn't.
In other words, all this quote ever does is appeal to people who relate to it and remind those that don't that someday they will.

It means that often we are not grateful for what we have and enjoy until we are denied those privileges. For example :the cruelty and suffering imposed on Jews by the Nazis when they denied them proper food and shelter to mention only a little.

It means you take for granted a person and how much they mean to you until they decide to leave.

Then you realize how much they truly mattered....usually it's too late to go back.

Hmm.....I can't think of anything really specific, but I think it's true. Our lives would be improved if we could learn to appreciate what we have.
