Wanting someone's all well and good, but I'd rather have some sort of emotional connection to the person beyond lust. I love the physical aspect of it and all, but just wanting someone is only good when you're not wanting a relationship or serious commitment, otherwise it's really nice to know that you can want someone and love them, too.

I am one of those people who doesn't know the difference. So I will just guess and go with "WANT"?? Need gets old and pathetic.

I would only be with someone I WANT because if the person you are with thinks that you "need" to be with them, they will treat you however they want. That is just human nature.

Want - because you should be able to live a productive life on your own. Need, in this context, is like absolutely having to have this person in order to survive. Want, for this girl.

I'd rather want someone then to need them. Wanting them means that you desire them and would truly appreciate having them around. Needing someone is to depend on them and is not truly appreciating them.

Wants can go away...needs do not. I don't know which I prefer because sometimes what you need is exactly what you NEED but may be hard to attain, and what you want can dissolve with time so that's sometimes easier. Wow, hard question to answer.

I would rather "want" someone. I can take care of my own "needs".

Want is more emotionally healthy I think. Need is something to be wary of. Though we all (many of us anyway) go through periods of thinking we "need" something or someone. Thank God for unanswered prayers.
