Try Jack Johnson. He was a surfer, and has Hawaiin roots. Really easy laid back fun music. In Between Dreams is his best CD, and has a lot of great acoustic songs.

Jack Johnson is mellow and island-ish. It's something I would listen to while relaxing on the beach.
