Like 30% chance...does that mean like COULD rain on 30% of the area, or what????

What 30% chance of rain means is that 30% of the area in which you live may see rain. 100% rain chance means that the enitre area should see rain.

The weatherman is always correct. If he says 10% chance of rain. He means 10% of the area may see rain. If it rains on the East Side of town he is right. If it doesn't, he is right because the key word is 'may' see rain.

Of course, the higher %, the more likely its going to rain. This is due to the fact that the approaching storm is large.

So the next time the local news says that there is a 70% chance of rain, you may not see a drop. But, most of the viewing area of that TV station 'may' get wet.

That means that there is a 30% chance that it will rain.
There is a 70% chance that it won't rain.
Most likely it won't rain.

It means that there is a 30% chance out of 100% that it will rain or snow or be cloudy "in" your geographical area.

it's just a chance if it's 100% then you must take your umbrella with you anything above 30% means that the posibilities of raining are high.
