Positive: -alerts the public about various products/services/deals.
-helps businesses make money (of course).
-helps a lot of entertaintment sources (such as TV) run, because the companies pay the TV stations to run their commercials. This also applies to radio stations.
Cons: -people often get annoyed by advertisements.
-bad advertisements can actually defer people from buying your product.
-Advertising can result in litter (especially in NYC).
-Places like NYC are so filled with advertisements, that often they are virtually unnoticed and ineffective.
-People often accuse advertisements of "brainwashing" the public.

positive- it brings more money for the business

negative- its is becoming more sexual because sex sells. therefore, the youth and children populations are being exposed to this at a younger age. It is allowing them to believe that its okay to do things that aren't okay to do.
