A couple of times I have hit my back on the vault because I run sooo slow. but I just can't seem to keep a fast, steady run. I really don't like to do front handsprings, but I love the sport so I don't want to quit. Should I just run fast and jump and not even think about it? IDK. Also when I am running should I look down at the springboard then the vault before I go on it. (while running) or should I be looking up past the vault and just go? Idk. Give me any vaulting tips at all. Thanks

There are many leg exercises that gymnasts can do to develop leg strength for a faster run as well as for a stronger take-off.
Examples:

A. Variations of running: stairs, uphill, with weight, etc.

B. Squat jumps, one leg squat, one leg calf raises, etc.

C. Plyometrics - series of hops up to stacked mats, series of jumps over a small block on the running strip, etc.

D. Weights - Push jerk with barbell, leg extensions and curls on a leg machine: With a dumbbell at side, squat down and jump, etc.

In the run phase of the vault, arms should not flail from side to side, but rather stay bent, and at the gymnast’s sides, alternatively pumping forward in opposition to her knees. The legs should always point straight ahead, and the knees should lift straight forward as the gymnast strides. Feet also should point ahead, and not out to the sides. The head should stay upright, not looking down.

ok, do you have a bully at your college or a instructor which you extremely hate?? faux that they try to the two beat you up(i'm severe this works) or provide you detention for a neglected project... then run as speedy as you may to objective and get faraway from them and as quickly as you have exceeded the board you're "risk-free" then bounce on the board such as you're pounding on the guy chasing you. Ask your persons in the event that they are going to chase you, or prepare working up a steep hill. this could get your muscle mass better.
