The northern part of the olympic peninsula, around Sequim, is also very dry- it is in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains and gets only about 1/3 as much rain as the rest of western Washington.

Eastern Washington is much drier. East of the mountains where the rain has dropped its moisture, it's way drier and the temperatures are more extreme than to the west. Higher highs for the summer and cooler lows for the winters.

The area immediately east of the Cascade mountain range is the dryest part of the state, due to the rain shadow.

Eastern Washington for sure. You can tell by the total lack of trees and vegetation as you move east.
