I was like that-I went in at night and told them I thought my water broke....funny things moved fast with the Dr's then. After a full exam they knew it didn't but I was close enough that I stayed and had my baby.

Trust me on this one - RELAX now - you will need all your strength here soon for labor and all that comes after it. If you rest and keep your body calm now the baby will be able to come a lot faster. Seriously - rest and be calm now... you won't get a chance for the next 18 years... :) In the month before our son was born I finished my post-graduate program, bought & moved into our first house, and took my board exam (big scary test to qualify to work). I didn't have the energy reserves I needed and had 38 hard hours of labor. So really - enjoy these last few days of having this precious little one right next to your heart. It is a really special time for the two of you and you will be all the better prepared for birth if you take the time to enjoy where you are right now.

You poor thing that castor oil thing is a myth I tryed that it was aweful. All I can say is be patient. If your contractions seem like they are becoming regular haul your butt into the er. I actually went 42 weeks I didnt think he would ever come... and he didnt they had to induce labor which I highly do not recommend. The contractions are very feirce right from the begining. Im sure your baby will come soon just sit back and enjoy the quiet before the storm.

Honey, I totally feel your pain! I tried everything when I was pregnant and miserable and I STILL had to be induced at 41 weeks! Have you tried having sex? Sometimes that will help some women to start contractions. It's hard to say when you will start labor since every woman is different, but the baby will come when he is ready. I know that's not what yout want to hear, but its the truth! I've also heard that sometimes eating spicy food works. None of these thing worked for me, but they may work for you. If all else fails, ask your OB if they'l induce you...some will if your hurting bad. Good luck!

Sorry, I feel your pain. I was in & out of the hospital numerous times after 38 weeks, hoping to come out with a baby. My Doc let me go until my son was 19 days overdue. & even at that point labor started naturally (actually had been having contractions 5 min apart for 2+ weeks) I tried EVERYTHING to no avail. I had had it with leaving the hospital pregnant, that my BF had to literally drag me to the hospital the day my son was born.

Absolutely nothing worked for me Monica. I was 4cm dilated by my 39th week and my doctor would not sweep my membranes or recommend anything to get labour started. I also had high blood pressure (not preeclampsia) and was restricted to bedrest. I was put in and then out of hospital 4 times between my 34th and 41st week of pregnancy because of the blood pressure. But it wasnt dangerously high. This is the reason why they let it go. I tried EVERYTHING to help myself into labour. Walking, bumpy roads, pineapple, raspberry leaf tea, warm baths, nipple stimulation, breast pumps yada yada yada.

I had gone into prem labour on my 34th week. This is the reason why i was so dilated. But when labour stopped, noone from the hospital would continue to initiate it because it was too early. They just thought that seeing I had gone into labour before that i would naturally go into labour again at the right time. They were wrong.

I suffered no more labour pains until i was induced on my 41st week - when my blood pressure became erratic. They gave me a drip and I was in labour for 8hours. I ended up having to have an emergency C Section when I found out my son was laying in posterior position in my pelvis and they couldnt move him. His heart was slowing down so we had no choice but to get him out then and there.

Some remedies do work for pregnant women who are full term. But sometimes they dont - im one of those examples. Try any of the above I mentioned to you....but dont be crushed if they dont work. Baby will come out in his own time, either by itself or with the help of a qualified professional.

Me personally a trampoline worked. However if you are already dilating and everything give it another day. And the Castor Oil does sometimes take about 24 hours to fully kick in so watch out! You may be welcoming your baby boy in just another day or so.

Castrol oil not good. I understand you want the baby but it's best to let nature do it's job. Your already dilating all you can is to sit back and relax just watch for any leaking or your waterbreaking and if your contractions are coming every 5 mins for a hour then it's time to go.
