It's possible that your friend isn't being mean and she just happens to be more candid, more serious and less uninhibited than you. And even if you are an "on the prowl" type person, that's OK - it's YOUR personality. It sounds like you just have a personality mismatch and you two aren't best suited to being close friends. From her point of view, she may see you as acting recklessly or being more carefree, less cautios than SHE is comfortable with. You would probably both be happier with friends that are more in keeping with your personality.
Good luck. There's bound to be tons of people who would enjoy your free spirited attitude and like to be your friend.

THIS GIRL IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. As long as you can keep this in mind you will be centered in reality. I don't know why you would let someone treat you this way without saying, "F*** you Bi***! I'll kick your a**. Shut the F*** up before your mouth writes checks that your a** can't cash!" Seriously, though. Tell her to take a hike, fly a kite, or go jump in front of moving train. You don't need people like that in your life and you don't owe her any respect or friendship. Find other people that leave you alone and abandon her to her own negativity.

If you know any of her ex friends go and ask them if they did the same with them. You will most likely find that she is trying to be the dominant person in the friendship and has probably succeeded in the past, albeit for a short duration. If you're already catching onto her remarks as somewhat odd and malicious, I would say her tricks won't work well on you.
Try to confront her ways to her and if she denies what you say and cannot handle a decent conversation about your friendship, I would suggest breaking it off with her and finding other people who will appreciate you.

I think if it bothers you that much, and you sound like it does, then you should talk to your friend and resolve the issue between the two of you. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with flirting or having crushes. I agree with you that your friend might just have some issues of her own that she's projecting onto you. Perhaps you can find another friend to go "flirting" with and do some other things with this one. Best of luck.

I don't think you have to imitate her behavior by responding. Make your voice known by distancing yourself from her, especially when she puts you down. Although she may have a point to make, there are much less nasty ways of telling you how she feels, if she really feels that way. Of course she may be practicing to be the next Don Rickles or Joan Rivers and she may make a fortune later in Las Vegas as a comedienne. Ask her that before giving her the boot, just to be sure you aren't giving up a position as her straight woman.

She is just trying to bring your self esteem down, you can like ANYONE you want to like, what ever you do, do not let her and her words get next to you, she is not a real friend!

You should find another friend. this one is the Friend from Hell that is only trying to get you feeling bad about yourself. This is because of issues she has. It is very hard to be yourself around someone who thinks nothing of stepping on your feelings to make Herself feel Superior.

This girl sounds like she has serious problems and she is jealous. If I was you I would seriously let her go. Girls like that can get crazy and are not healthy for you.
