Yes...the bill has recently passed Congressional debate and has been enacted into law . Minimum wage earners will gradually see their salaries increasing over the next 2 years, with a total the sum of $7.25 per hour. All employers must be in full compliance or risk criminal and civil penalties.

1997=$5.15 hr......2010=$7.25hr...... Lets see we have been working for Ten (10*) years for $5.15 hr... The so called actual increase only amounts to 17.6 cents an hour for working Twelve (12*) years waiting on an increase in the minimum wage. THATS INSANE. Would you work for 12 years for a 17.6 cent increase in your paycheck? Because it is on a graduated basis we will not receive the full amount $7.25 until 2010. The U. S. Government and American Employers are keeping Sixteen (16*+ Million People in perpetual POVERTY since 1997.. Slavery is Alive and Well in America...They need to pay above POVERTY LEVEL WAGES if they want American Workers to get out of POVERTY.. It is the Right thing to do.. NO ONE WHO WORKS FOR A LIVING SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE IN POVERTY.....

Yes, it was attached to the Iraq spending deal.
Bad move, minimum wage increases drive prices up and forces smaller businesses to slash payrolls.
