it's our theme for this term in modern history, and i was wondering if people knew anything or know any good websites for it?

Well I do know that Germany was fascist, which is a totalitarian form of government and economy, whose dictator was hitler who led the Nazi party. Before the dictatorship, I believe Germany was a republic.

So yes, Germany was totalitarian because of the Nazi party.

Even among modern historians there is a tendency to take that view. Hitler continues to be given a great deal of attention and his influence is given a lot of stress. But you have to admit that interpretation is awfully convenient. It takes all the responsibility for the war (and the Holocaust) to places them all squarely on one man. There's no need to for the German people to bear any responsibility for the war. There's no need to question the policies of other nations. This is why books tend to pay so much attention to Nazi propaganda. The poor people -- they were so misled! Surely it wasn't their fault!

I think you have to look at a heck of a lot more than just Hitler or his party to explain the German situation.
