Because you are having cramps it means that your period could be on its way.

Also, since you have only been having period a couple years yes it is normal to have some irregularity. It can take about 3 years for the periods to regulate themselves. I would also recommend letting your dr know when you go in for your next check up to see what they say.

If you're having cramps in your lower abdomen (mine sometimes extend into my upper thighs) and your breasts are sore, you're probably going to get it soon. Skipping periods is normal when you're first starting and can take a long time to even out. At least you don't need to worry about being pregnant. It might be a week away, or it may come tomorrow. Be prepared by wearing a pantiliner and bringing pads/tampons with you. I hope it doesn't ruin your trip!

It is hard to say, but there are some things that could keep it from coming- and therefore some things you can do to keep it coming when it's suppose to. 1. Eat healthy, plenty of good, healthy food. 2. Athletes sometimes skip periods, you mentioned a lot of swimming. 3. Get plenty of rest and try to limit your stress. I always find if I'm really stressed my period stays away, and once I relax (like vacation) it comes back. Good luck
