working in the summertime?

im 16 and planning to get a job this summer. if i get a job will i have to work 40 hours since i dont go to school for a few months or will i still be able to work 5 hours a day?

Depends on the job. Many jobs are part time. Ask when you apply whether they're looking for part time or full time workers. For some part time jobs, you might work 8 hours but only three days a week or something like that, or maybe just a few hours a day.
