What is the difference between MP4 format and THM format?

Im trying 2 download stuff onto my PSP and there a button that says Download MP4 only then theres another that says THM only. Whats the difference?

The MP4 if the video. The THM is a thumbnail that will appear when you are picking a video from the PSP video selector menu.
