I just noticed that the vain under my eye pumps hard for couple of seconds and then stops. It keeps happening. Is it because I am studying for an exam since morning or is it b/c of blood pressure? Does anyone know why its happening?

~I told my brother to check if he could see it move and he can.

This sounds like a tic, which is the result of stress. Since it is the result of stress, it is totally possible that it is being caused the thoughts of the upcoming exam. Tics usually go away on their own in time, which can range from a few weeks to several months. Tics are common in children and teens but usually not present in adulthood.

I've had the exact same problem on and off for the past few years. It's completely harmless; just annoying. The doc says it's typically caused by stress, lack of sleep, eye strain, or change in sleep patterns. Sometimes the muscles get overused or tired and start to twitch. In my case, I don't think it's a nervous tic, because it also happens when I'm completely relaxed and unstressed.
