I'd say you are broad-minded or cultured.

Hell no! I'm Scottish, I play the accordion, keyboard, piano, along with a couple of other things, but mainly those 3. The BEST music you get for the accordion and keyboard is Scottish. Pop music is pretty pathetic, as is most rock. Any folk music from any country, I feel, always sounds better than the "artificial" music that most people listen to. I love most Scottish music - if you find the right tunes, they can be very rhythmic, they can have strong chords, and above all, very impressive and clever melodies. My personal favourites are fast reels, even better if they are minor. The harder to play, the better they sound.
So no, you are not a geek. You have taste. Can I ask where you are from? Are you from Scotland, or somewhere else?

No of course you are not a geek.
But if it is the only thing you like, and you refuse to talk to anyone who doesn't like Scottish Folk Music and you will not talk about anything but Scottish Folk Music then you are a 'geek', although 'anorak' or 'folk music fascist' may also be applicable terms.
Does Andy Stewart count as Scottish Folk Music?

You are not a geek for liking Scottish Folk Music. You are a cultured individual who is interested in Scottish culture. You are one of a band of many millions across the globe.
Your are definitely not a geek, for without folk like yourself, folk art and culture of all kinds would simply die. Then what?

Absolutely not. One of the best ways to learn about a people's culture is through their music. Most Scottish folk music finds its roots in historical narrative, which was used to orally pass on stories of days past. Being proudly of Scottish descent muself, I listen to Scottish music often. It teaches lessons, recalls the exploits of heroes and reminds us of a proud and honorable past. You are not a geek.

Excuse me I AM A GEEK (Computers, Comics, collecting toys - and not taking them out of the box, etc etc) and I would prefer if you do NOT use that term as I find it offencive being associated with FOLK MUSIC.
I'm sure that you would offended if some one said to you "Ahhh Train Spotter, standing at the end of platform 9 with their little note book singing Scottish Folk songs !!!"
He He He !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look, there is nothing wrong with being a 'geek' if you are into it & like it - just do it & enjoy it.
There are a lot more harmful things that you could be into. Don't worry about it.

absolutely NOT A GEEK. There is nothing wrong with liking music of any genre, if there was something wrong with it, then why are there so many options to satisfy so many different tastes in music...If u were to get people to answer honestly and I mean truly honest, most will admit that they have a liking for a style of music that is NOT the common or norm.

Scottish folk music is great. It clears your sinuses, makes you more independent, and might even make you want to throw stuff.

Yeah stable question . We journey compelled to by some ability rhythmically pass with the beat of song , it relatively is at a subconscious element i assume however the situation it stems from is any bodies wager . it relatively isn't continuously ideal to leap around to the beat so tapping the ft is a fashion of stepping into into the groove without being too socially exsertive .
