I think any one who thinks that is seriously lacking in brains... privately held firearms are used far, far more often in self defense that in the commission of a crime...that is the federal published statistics. You just will never hear it in the liberal/communist media... a man forbidden the legitimate means to defend himself, and others, is a slave... The US is well on it's way to being a slave state... The EU and UK already are...

If you look at countries like France, the UK, Austria, Japan and Australia, together they have a population about the same as the USA. On average all those countries together have about 150 deaths per year from firearms. The USA has over 30,000. The difference? All those countries have strict gun control laws.
"The constitution provides for armed citizens that are able to overthrow a tyrannical government". Wrong! Read the Consitution. It says that in order to maintain a well regulated militia, citizens have the right to bear arms. A well regulated militia was important 200 years ago, it is no longer important as the USA is well served by its armed forces including the National Guard and the Coast Guard and there is also an adequate police force. The so-called "right to bear arms" has no justification.
If you want to continue with 30,000 unnecessary deaths a year, keep your insane laws.

An AK-47 does not use .50 caliber ammo, It uses 7.62 and you should not start a sentence with word "and". You should capitalize the first word after a period. You are more or less right however your verbiage is a bit extreme. You can get the same point across without using words like "Nazi". When you use words like this you make the person with an opposing view turn off. It is a bit like shouting in someones ear and expecting them to hear you. Your on the right track but make sure you make your argument intelligently, and softly. Remember "Speak softly and carry a big stick" (or gun) P.S. Monse is right. the average Mexican citizen will never own a gun. Guns can be smuggled in from anywhere. The good ones come from Germany or Italy.

If you outlaw bullets, then it is just a matter of time until speech, freedom, and everything else you hold dear might be outlawed. The constitution provides for armed citizens that are able to overthrow a tyrannical government, unfortunately, some are going to die because we have this freedom.
If it bothers you that badly, move th the UK where you have absolutely no defense against criminals and rapists.
Btw, guns or bullets do not kill people any more than cars kill people.

There is a lot of tax money generated from the sale of ammunition in the US. Some of this goes to National Wildlife refuge and I am sure each State gets a big cut too.
Don't expect anything that generates tax money to be outlawed anytime soon.. You wont see either party rejecting money from a special interest group such as tobacco companies. I used to smoke and don't care if anyone else does or not but for all the "evils" associated with smoking, it's still legal because the political parties get money from them.

If you can pass a background check, you can get a gun. The problem is that people illegally own guns. They are the ones going around shooting people !!!!!

I could, if I had to, make my own bullets. I have friends that make them. No trouble. Just need caseings (cheap) , gunpowder and a bullet, and a firing cap.
All you need is a shell press.
