I like the name Caleb for the baby I'm expecting in six weeks, my partner hates it but I don't really care too much because he's insisting on his middle name being Douglas after his grandfather, I HATE THAT NAME!!!

I don't think there is any way to persaude him to lose interest in that name, ideas would be helpful.

Also if anyone has any good suggestions for boys first names I would love to hear them,

A first name with a "d" sound in the middle would flow well with Douglas.
Something like:
Alexander Douglas
Andrew Douglas
Brady Douglas
Brandon Douglas
Cedric Douglas
Chandler Douglas
Cody Douglas
Edward/Edwin Douglas
Frederick Douglas
Theodore Douglas
Xander Douglas
Hope they help! :)

I actually like Douglas ( it's my son's name) and that was a compromise . I really wanted to name him Matthew James.

You are not going to change your husbands mind on this one I am afraid but remember this MOST people never use their middle names.

Here's a few suggestions:

Caleb Douglas : Yes it sounds fine
Keith Douglas
Martin Douglas
Kevin Douglas
Andrew Douglas
James Douglas

Can't you two come up with a name you will both like?

I like Caleb a lot! I agree with you on Douglas...ugh. But at least it would be a middle name. Some other first names that that I like:
LIAM
JACE
LUKA
CULLEN
OWEN
LANDON
CALE
Best of luck to you and congrats!

Just allow the use of Douglas. Caleb Douglas doesn't sound too bad, and if Caleb every complains 'Moooommm why is my middle name heinousss?' you can say 'It was your father's idea *dirty look*'.

Compromise how about Joshua Davis, Austin Timothy, Samuel David, John Chandler, I personnally think that you and your husband should both agree or comprimise also think about if the kid is going to get teased because of their name. MY brother's name is chance and he was always called chance pants. That type of thing.

Just be thankful its his MIDDLE name and not his FIRST name... my cousin just named her baby Douglas... makes me determined to find the cutest name possible.

To each his or her own, I suppose.

Connor, Aidan, Cooper, Liam, Noah, Joshua... all good names. Good luck!

Caleb Douglas has a nice ring to it. All of our four children have middle names after their grandparents and aunts, uncles etc, 'Robert', 'Jordin Roze', 'Rozlynne,' 'Cherelle'.

One thing to consider is how the child might feel with the name or names you finally decide upon.

My favorite boy's name is John.

Slap some sense into him! We don't reuse family names in my family. What's the point? Been there done that time to move on. I like Trey and Zhane.
