I'd take my Yellow Tailed Arowana any day of the week over anything and never think twice about that. Arowana's are a peek at many generations of the past and have been linked to prehistoric aged fish in thier genetics. A fish like that that has evolved over the years, and thier splendor in how they flow gracefully in the tank, in my humble opinion is second to none. Yes they reach gigantic sizes for a freshwater fish, and thier daring to sometimes jump out of the water into tree areas for smaller birds shows the great dynamics of this fish. The asian Arowana's have a wonderous coloration that only salt water fish can compete with. Though most everyone in the USA cannot own one of these due to CITES listing, anyone that's had the oppertunity to see them at the farms in Malaysia and Indonesia have had a treat I think really can't be compared to any other fish. I know they are high maintenence, but once you've had one grow and get near adult size, the pleasure in watching them in that enviroment just can't be compared to anything else. That's my .02 cents :)

well i have too say Dwarf Puffers because Dwarf Puffers are very interesting, intelligent and active fish. They learn to recognize their owner and will come to the glass to see what you're up to whenever you're in the room. They also will beg for food (they even learn what the container looks like) or follow your finger around the glass. If you put your hand in the tank, they will have to be right by it at all times. It's as if they have to know exactly what you're doing! You also have to be careful when siphoning water from the tank, because their curiosity will sometimes lead them a little too close to the siphon tube! I've sucked one up a time or two and had to rescue them from the bucket! These little guys have tons of personality and are by far one of the most fun fish to own :)

I'd say, Dwarf Puffers.

They are so small, yet so vicious.

I can't get any right now, because they would be too aggressive to my other fish...

But I plan on setting up a small aquarium and putting a few in.

I love my Betta because he thinks his reflection is another fish and attacks the glass.

African cichlids because they are beautiful, smart, and have personality. They are not hard to care for, and they are just like family.

bluegill because they have a surprisingly great bone-meat ratio and they're so easy to catch that you could easily make a good meal with them.
