You could be sure about pregnancy. But can you trust your BF doesn't have STD? It will be better to use condom, there are some very thin and you almost don't feel them.

Nothing is 100% even birth control shots. That said, your doctor should have told you the percentage of safety you would have with the birth control shot (85%? 99.9%?) You also need to know when the shot becomes effective - immediately, two weeks, etc. Even birth control pills are not 100% but they are very close.

If you are serious about not wanting an unplanned pregnancy, talk to your doctor about a back-up plan - like a contraceptive foam or an IUD. Your doctor can give you the best guidance so always be upfront and honest with them so they can give you the best answer for you.

Remember, birth control options do not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases.

Good luck!

forget pregnancy be worried about STDs. Some STDs can sterilize you permanently which means you wont ever have children. Oh and don't forget HPV which can contribute to cervical cancer. There is no sex good enough to go without a condom besides there are other ways to get yours!! women are very sensitive in many areas. And you still could get pregnant with the shot!! Use your hands be creative with sex and always wear a condom.

Why use it if you don't trust it? There is a very slight chance for pregnancy with the pill, but most people still feel comfortable relying on it. I would think the shot is just as good or they would have had so many lawsuits over it, they would have taken it off the market. True about the STD's though. How well do you know him?

The question is if you did are you both ready for that commitment and responsibility If you were to become pregnant?? Have you finished school?? Do you have the means for a child?? Birth control affects everyone differently!! My mom was on birth control, used a condom and spermicide and STILL got pregnant!! So I understand it feels better but you are still taking a risk. Just really think about it before you do it!!!! Good Luck!!!

There is still a risk for pregnancy, as well as the chance of getting STD's. I'd still use a condom to be safe.

yes it will be pretty much next to impossible to get pregnant while on the shot. i'm not saying it couldn't happen. During the 28 day cycle, I would just make sure that your bf uses a condom around the middle of your cycle because the only day you can get pregnant is when your ovulating (around 14th day).

The only 100% effective form of birth control is abstinence so you CAN get pregnant on depo (I also know of a few girls who did get pregnant).

The shot is 99% effective.

I was on the depo for a little over a year, and i had my share of accidents with my husband, and i never got pregnant, my doc told me it was 99% effective, and when we decided to have another baby, it took me a year to get pregnant after i stopped it wich is usually normal.

you're never completely 100% safe from pregnancy...theres always a slim chance...but you are probably in the clear and will not get pregnant.

...but i would make sure yall are both tested before doing it without a condomn
