I absolutely hated the fact that it ended that way. Ten years is a long time to be without the man you love. Pirates of the Carribean should have ended at the first movie. It had the perfect ending.

I thought it was fair, I really enjoyed the ending and this part.
I heard on the livejournal POTC discussion community that it would only be 10 years and he could give up the curse since Elizabeth was there waiting for him. I think this had to do with the 'hidden scene' at the end of the credits, which I missed but I had heard about.

Davy Jones killed him. So he was doomed unless his heart was cut out and he became immortal. Of the choices available, immortal didn't seem so bad. He could either lose Elizabeth forever, or have her for one day. Same with her.

To me it seemed like a cliffhanger, and i really feel there should be a fourth movie. I was disappointed at the ending, and i dont know why elizebeth seemed so "ok" with it..
