I'm with you. There are a few million who died in wars who would say :"Freedom is very expensive." They should know. They picked up the tab.

For the fist part, what would have happened if Hitler took over.. He wasn't trying to, and it wasn't his say anyway since he was Not the head of power, only an advisor (with a strong motivational ability).
I doubt things would be much different. His views (which are grossly misunderstood) would never have worked out since there was virtually no real research into genetics at the time. He would have eventually been removed as an advisor and things would have gone on much as they really did.

Secondly, Freedom cannot be Free. Freedom "Given" is never real, it is only an illusion, and those "given" it will never understand its value nor fear its loss in the same way as those who "Earn" it.
Those who advocate earning freedom for Others risk taking away the right of those others to earn it for themselves, making them worse than whoever is supressing those freedoms already. A people can/will eventually fight and earn their own freedom, but once someone else falsly "gives" them freedom, they lose that chance forever.

Freedom is not free. We need to appreciate the fact that we live in a free country (for those who do). I don't look back into the Hitler age. I look to the future and what can possibly happen with the East and West fighting so much nowadays.

This makes me think about our history and the way early Americans had to fight for freedom. The Founding Fathers realized that freedom would be a gamble when they signed away their lives to the Declaration. They knew that the cost would also mean that they would probably not see it, if they die and the Revolutionary War was succssful. They knew, too, that it would cost them their lives and give them no freedom in return. The voices of freedom spread from Boston to other cities and eventually to other colonies. The colonists were impressed with the Bostonians' ability to defy the Redcoats and fight for freedom in the face of death (Boston Massacre - 6 killed). Freedom isn't really free. You have to shed alot of blood and hardwork to get it. We should never take freedom for granted. That is why each of us has a responsibility in preseving freedom with each passing generation. Because you are right freedom does not exist in a document (Constitution), it has always existed in the human spirit

No.
And the sad truth is, that when it comes to war, it is exceedingly lucrative for some people.

And it is also true that things are not as simple and black and white as we (especially men) want to believe.
For example, Hitler never would have gained power in Germany in the first place if the conditions and sanctions placed on Germany after WWI weren't so harsh.

We don't like to take responsibility for the fact that very often we have a hand in creating our enemies.

You have answered your own question and, to answer another one, my friend that died in 1978 was the last survivor of a unit the was wiped out in Nam in '72. Freedom was never free. Not one of the "men" were over 18 years old.

No. It's plain and simple. If freedom was free then people would have never had/been slaves and there would be peace on Earth and no wars. I mean that's what we are fighting for, right? Freedom? So if it came free, then there would be nothing to fight for except army amunition, and who ever had the best would win, so no point in that...

When man allows his external thinking and action to settle into uncreative static conditions then they have built walls around themselves. Then they hold them selves beneath the ground because of criteria.( Don't let criteria lead you learn from it and lead yourself ) Undisciplined subconscious releases , an emotion which renders a man blind to the existence of inner light in any degree. In case of an misunderstanding, in short "the clear white light" "the light bulb above our heads" or not using our brains to enhance our lives and discover. The more we raise humans with the freewill the more ignorance is cured and war will just be a dull word in the language of smart people. The freedom we posses is the will to liberate and embrace what ever may come.

Of course freedom isn't free. The world is full of maniacs who want to rule over some or all people. Gotta fight them.

You need to tell us who in the world thinks freedom is free. Otherwise, there is nothing to talk about.
