There is very little you can do. Chances are he got into something and it will pass in a day or two. The best thing you can do is to make sure there is plenty of water around to prevent dehydration and give him as much love as he'll tolerate.

You are probably more worried than he is right now. So please try to calm down for both of you. If you have a 24 hour emergency animal hospital in your area, you can call them for advice. Look in your phone book or check www.411locate.com

I also have a long hair cat and when she had diarrhea the only thing we could do was wait and help her clean up afterward. She was humiliated from the amount in her fur and not very keen on the help. She was, however, relieved when everything was over, including cleanup.

first try to confine him if possible in a shower stall s this can easily be kept cleaned. It won't hurt to trim the hair around the rectum and the legs.
Take the food away form him as he really doesn't need it for the night.
Give him plenty of water the main concern is to not let him dehydrate. If he won't drink use a medicine syringe or eyedropper and "force' him to take water.
You can give a 1'2 teaspoon of pepto bismol but not more than 3 times.
if this doesn't clear up get him to the vets as soon as possible tomorrow.

Carefully trim the fur around the butt and clean it with shampoo and water.

It won't hurt him to keep him off food for today and just give him access to water until you can get him to the vet tomorrow.

You can give him Pepto-Bismol:
1/2 teaspoon (or 1-2ml) by mouth, no more than 3 times a day. Refridgeration may make it taste better to them. You can get dosing syringes in the baby/pharmacy section of your store.

First and foremost, you have to prevent dehydration. Even if you have to use an oral syringe, get it to drink some water.

Sometimes a vet will say give a VERY SMALL dose of Kaopectate, but that may not be the case for this animal.

the best thing you can do is just clean up after him, and make sure he's drinking plenty of water, you don't want him to get dehydrated. that happened to one of my cats once and i had to wait until the next day to get her to the vet. it was a long night. I hope your kitty gets better and good luck to you.

Oh bullshit. Emergency vets are open both on weekends and on holidays. And do NOT give him human medicine. Some of them, such as Pepto Bismol, are toxic to cats and will kill him.

Get him to the vet!
