You can try camomile tea. It is a mild sedative. It is really super mild and will not cause your problems unless you take a great deal the problem is that it might not treat your anxiety that well. You can give it a try it helps a little You can also try bauch flower rescue remedy. It is availble in drops that you can get at the healthy food store. The instructions are on the bottle. Tension Tamer tea is another option you can just get at the grocery store. Massage helps as does meditation and yoga. It just depends on how bad your anxiety is and what you and your doctor agree on. You can also ask your doctor if you can try the presctiption drug Ativan. It is much milder than a drug like Xanax. Xanax is a very strong and addictive medication. You can get a very small dose of ativan that might not cause as much sleepiness.

Yes but St John's Wort can also cause irratable bowel syndrome and loose stools. It's really hard to sit at the bar with loose stools.

I like valerian root supplements for anxiety. It's also available as tea. Some supplements have good combinations of different things, and if you go to a good health food store, the staff could give some helpful suggestions.
Good luck!!!
