Depends if they are helping out around the house. But I think £10 is fair.

It depends on the state you live in, some states hire 15 year olds to work so you could earn a check and put half in the bank and use half of it for the time before the checks. Maybe look into babysitting. Pocket money is not something that a teen has to have they just want it. So for this pocket money what chores are you willing to do or do you just expect your parents to hand you money without you doing anything for it? Think about that money doesn't grow on trees but I think if I had a 15 yr old and they did the chores I asked of them in a timely fashion i would say 20 dollars depending on the state California would have to be like 40 because you can't buy a chese burger in California for less then 10 dollars.

Ok well first of all I'm 16 and I've never gotten pocket money in my entire life, once my dad told me that he gave if i wanted but I said no since I actually think it's HIS money, he worked quiet a lot for it, really. You're pretty lucky because you live in a country where you can make enough money as a teenager, too. I've been living in a central european country for several years[my parents are originally from here, this country really s.cks] and you can't get enough money not even if you have part-time jobs [$145 a month before taxes is a pretty great salary for a teen] So if you really think you have no time at all for doing part-time jobs, you have great opportunities though, then probably ask your daddy to buy food for your fish, so you can save up your weekly pocket money for what you really want. If you weren't lying and your daddy really earns this much he can afford it, and I'm almost sure he would deal with it.

Nothing. I think a 15 year old should get a Saturday job. When I was 15. I had three jobs plus I used to cut peoples grass after school. I earned over 100 pounds (GB) a week.

My son, 15, told me he wants £20 a week...for cooking every night--(mon to fri...i do it on the weekends)--for him, his brother, 14, and myself. I told him no--that i considered my teaching him how to cook a 'life skill', which he would need to learn for when he left home. However--in an effort to try and get him to earn his own money--i applied at our local free news paper office for a job for him delivering the free papers in our area--£30 a week it would have meant for him--after school hours, with six day's to deliver 500 paper's. He said it was too much like hard work--that he really couldn't be bothered--that he needed to keep in touch with his 'bruv's' on 'facebox' every night....so now he gets nothing. I had to earn it when i was younger, and i don't see why he can't earn it at his age. £30 a week is a goodly amount for a 15 year old--but he can't be bothered...so tuff. The basic idea of 'pocket money' used to be the change--usually in dad's pocket--at the end of the week, when all the essentials in the house had been paid for---NOW it appears to me to be an industry for kids in today's society to skam what they can off their parent's!!

When I was 15, I had to do chores to earn money.
Dishes $3 x 3 times a week
Laundry$5
Clean Room $5
Bathroom $4
Total: $24 but mom rounded up to $25
So work for it and request $25

I have a 16 year old daughter who now earns her own money from her part time job but when she was 15 she got £5 pounds a week and that was the same as all her friends, apart from one who ended up getting nothing as she seemed to be permanently grounded due to her behaviour. They majority of her friends all had to due chores to earn it though.

well when i was 15 so long ago i got what i could earn which was about $10. Now i know girls need at least $50 just to maintain. My son gets $30 and puts it away so when he goes on dates he can make sure the girl does not have to pay. He is a good boy.

Shouldn't the question be 'do i deserve pocket money?' It all depends what country you're in. I imagine if you live in outer mongolia you may prefer Yak meat as payment. if you're just hanging with your grungy mates, smoking and drinking and getting home late beggar all! If, however you pull your weight around the house (and i don't mean dragging your carcass from sofa to bed) then may be you should ask your parents what they think you're worth. they should reply priceless in which case you can ask for whatever you like
