My husband is a retired vet (26 years) and now works for the VA here in MN. The $$ amount will vary based on your disability rating. Some will get vocational rehab to help them get into a job that doesn't irritate their condition and some will qualify for a greater amount of formal schooling if they can never go back to a job in their field. As an example: at 30% disability rating, a soldier qualifies for vocational rehab. Say if they were a warehouse/lifting person with a permanent back injury, v.r. might include computer training so the soldier could work in the office and not have to do heavy work.

I'm assuming you're in the military like me. You're best chances are your GI bill, man. The VA paper work system is probably worse than your branch. If you're in the reserves or guard it's gonna be alot harder too. My friend has been in the army for 2 years and still has not heard back.
