anyone heard of the site HotOrNot? anyways it's where you post a picture of yourself so people rate how good looking you are from 1-10, well my friend tried it and he put his pic up there; however, he got a low rating (6.0 out of 10). he had high hopes for himself first, he thought he'd get at least an 8, but after 200 votes, he averages a 6, so now he is depressed and thinks that people find him ugly, and is now shaky on his chances for finding a girl and such. so how do i tell him that it's just a number, and that it should mean nothing to him?

i heard of the site. but if he seriously (not to seem harsh.) felt the need to put his picture on a site, with shallow, conceited, up tight, self righteous peole then he really should have seen it coming.
other people have their likes and dislike on how they think someone looks. i am sorry he got a 6 but he should'nt let it bother him so badly. i did the samething on this site before it was shut bown. i got a few 5's and some 8's. the it averaged and i got a rating of 6.5.
however i just said i didn't give damn and canceled my account.
sit him down and let him read this answer.
do not let how a bunch of strangers people feel about you cloud your judgment. If you begin to feel shaky then chances are you are going to miss something that could have been great.
so chin up, and don't let some number get you so strung out.

If you think you have to smoke HotOrNot with a 9.9 to find dates, you are an insecure person.
Maybe he should have been working on a real hobby or developing a talent/skill, like playing a new card game or playing guitar, so he could get a new circle of people. That's how to meet honest people.

Anyone you meet because of HotOrNot will obviously be so concerned about looks, it will be hard to find the true being under that Abercrombie and Fitch display.

Tell him to look around, there are very few really true ugly people in the world, and very few really beautiful/hot people in the world. Also, when he post something like this, there always will be a bunch of "assh*les" that will rate him low, just to be mean. You really don't think men are going to rate him high, do you?
Also, he would not want to date anyone that dated him just because he was hot. He is better off being normal. It is the character of the person that matters. Think about it, if you know someone that is really "hot", they are all into them self, and they are normally jerks.

ppl that he doesn't even kno shouldn't judge him 2 help him find a girl. he probably has low self esteem or no confidence in himself. there r girls out there that do, and will like him 4 his looks and more. he just hasn't found them yet.

tell him that looks really don't matter. and that having confidence in yourself can make you a 10. otherwise women will pick up on his low confidence and not be attracted to him.
