I have a kingston usb flash drive (1gb) which I use to store photos on. I recently attempted to open the drive (from two different) computers and it tells me that the drive is not formatted.

Is there anyway to recover my (*priceless*) photos?

sometimes it says it not formatted if its not able to detect the usb properly due to a faulty usb slot in the computer... or it could be that a virus got in and messed with it.. .try opening it up on a computer that you have tried before and if it still saying the same thing then sorry to say you might have lost all your files in there

this is why you should have at least 2 places in which the same file is located just in case one of them will not work

Go to Start, My Computer (or just open My Computer from the desktop if it is there). Plug the Flash drive into a USB port. You should notice a new drive pop up under My Computer eventually. Right click on that new drive and then click format. Then click Start. Click OK on the warning and you should be set.

Try opening it on a Mac - I had this problem last week and it worked for me.
