I keep mail in my inbox because there's information that i refer back to a lot. I format my computer somewhat too and i move around a lot so i need them to be accesible to me everywhere.

Now all my mail is on the thunderbird and not in my inbox any more so i need to know how to move it back.
I've already changed my setting to leave mail on server
but i just need to send it back there from thunderbird to my hotmail and yahoo.

thanks!

i'm not an expert on email clients, but i if you are using a POP3 account, once you read the e-mail through the client, it deletes it off the server and saves it to your computer, if you are using an IMAP account, they stay synchronized. The easiest way to put it back would be to just e-mail it to yourself again, but don't read it (assuming you are using a POP3 account)

In Thunderbird, you should look for a setting you can change that would be something like "keep a copy of mail on the server" or something like that. It will be where you change settings for your e-mail account. I don't have Thuderbird so I can't locate it exactly for you. Also, it won't work retroactively. If you change it it will apply to future e-mail only.

That said. Your inbox, sent folder or deleted folder is not where you store mail you may need later. Save it to your hard drive or if you have gmail, archive it.

You actually answered your own question. All you have to do is forward it to your yahoo, and hotmail ID. You will recieve it again in thunderbird, but it will now stay on the mailservers due to the setting change.

You cant, as you have no control over the email servers. and these are stored outside your control zone.
