If you run out of gas its as simple as putting in gas and then turning the key on for a few seconds and then starting the engine. If it still fails to start you may have fuel pump, pump relay, electrical problems. Don't condemn the pump until you are sure that is the problem. Does the pump run, can you remove the gas cap and hear the pump hum when you turn on the key. Is the fuse for the fuel pump good, is the relay working properly. These are things that need to be tracked down before spending several hundred dollars on a new pump.

And in the future run on the top half of the tank, it is a lot easier on the pump and costs not a cent more.

Pump is probably fried from having no gas to cool it---drop the tank or remove the box and replace the pump.

There is no reset.
You may have ruined the fuel pump.
Double check the fuse in the underhood fuse block.
The fuse may not be marked "fuel pump", so check all the fuses in the fuse block!

before you condemn the pump be sure to check it directly and look closely at the hose just above the pump to make sure it does not have a hole in it
