I messed up my knee over a year ago and it is still bothering me, I went to the doctor after it happened he said i tore or pinched the cartilage in my knee and at the point I wasn't able to walk on it, so he told me if it wasn't better in a week to go back, it was better a week later so i could walk on it, but now it bothers me almost everyday. Please help and I don't have the money to go to the doctor because i dont have insurance!

The best thing to do for your knee is some light weight training, then walking won't hurt so much. Extra weight if you have any will cause you more pain no matter how much you exercise.

my brother shattered his knee cap & had to do physical therapy which involved leg weights & stuff like that. the doctor said knee injuries rarely ever fully heal & it will always be in some level of pain.

No, there is no workout to strenghten the cartilage. As far as I know, it may heal some, but it won't ever really grow back.

Cartilage is not muscular, therefore not prone to strengthening. Your muscles, tendons, and ligaments are, however.
