What is to be worth anything, American people didn't even get the oil. There is not one positive thing that has happened there for the American people.
Even if we got to steal all their oil free from now on it would still amount to thousands of dollars a barrel.
And that of course doesn't count the thousands dead and probably the thousands more dead sine the Democrats were too spineless to stop the crazed Gang of Pirates from sending still more to their deaths without even an idea of what they want. Besides looting the American treasury and breaking the American military.
And of course that is nothing compared to the devastation of the Iraqi people. Saddam was a horrendous monster but at his worst he did not kill or damage a fraction of the numbers that have been killed as a result of the GOP trying to play mad scientist and creating a Frankenstein "libertarian" government, that was all about protecting pirates, and couldn't even care about the massive looting and murders that happened early on.
The Gang Of Pirates have already proved that they hate everything America stands for, and have tried to destroy every last vestige of it, even Habeas Corpus that was established as bedrock Nine Hundred years ago.
Muslims were more aware of, and opposed to, their theofascists, than Americans are of theirs. If there had been an intelligent response to 9-11 Americans would have been the most respected peoples in the world instead of the most hated, and many Arab Countries would have helped us get the criminals who caused it.
Instead the Gang Of Pirates dropped the chase for Bin Laden, invaded a country not involved, destroyed everyones civil rights, and made the world much meaner, poorer, scarier, and stupider than ever before.
I have the utmost respect for the troops, but in this case they are as much the victims of the Gang Of Pirates as anyone.

Personally I don't think it's worth it.
Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.
And it could be argued that the policies of the Bush administration are creating more terrorists than they are eliminating.
And we are not aware of how many innocent people, children, women, old people etc. are being killed and maimed.
Let alone all the property destruction.
It it unfortunate but true, that just because you invest a lot in something doesn't mean it is the right thing to do.
There is actually an old trick salesmen would use in that they would waste a great deal of the customers time, making them wait and so forth. Just to make the person feel they have to 'get' something out of it because they put so much into it.
So that it would not be all for 'nothing'.
Below is an important link. I think people should send it around.

In the begining I did because I was so upset over 9-11. Now I do not think that it is worth it at all. I feel like it was a horrible thing that happened and gave Bush an excuse do invade iraq, and say what his "motives" were when really he is there for oil,. or some other crazy thing that has nothing to do with "weapons of mass destruction". This is a very emotional war and no matter how you feel about Bush (like him or not) I can bet that you think that we are are long overdue to be out of there. All in all, war is never worth it, especially when you are not there for a real cause besides trying to control a group of people who are NOT ready for democracy. No war is truly "worth it". Except for maybe the american revolution(which some may argue was not right) and WWII, which helped get us out out of the great depression.

Frankly, I wish we didn't have to fight wars and in this instance I don't think it is worth it. There are many factors that lead me to this decision and here are a few.
1. Saddam never had WMD's. Even if Bush says they did they never found them...funny how Colin Powell says now that they told him to lie about it...hmmm.
2. Iraq is a big mess. Shia, Shiites, Kurds, they can't get along with each other unless you drop the hammer on them. With Saddam in power at least they weren't killing each other like they are now, since we let them do what they want. It's too bad our leaders were to blind to see that...or maybe they did it deliberately (see above).
3. Sorry, but I believe no American life is worth dying for their petty differences. There were never any terrorists in Iraq until, we overthrew the government there. Iraq was better off with the tyrant Saddam.
4. Our intentions aren't clear. "Staying the course" (what ever that means) is not an objective...well I can't think of more right now, but that's what I have been able to discern. This by no means that I hate the soldiers that do their duty, but I would think they would want to die for something worthy.

Do you think someone should die so you can have gas for your car. Are you willing to let a young man or woman walk miles for you and take the chance of being maimed so you don't have to walk to the grocery.
You don't realize that you get nothing from this war. Who ever has control of the oil is the only one who will profit. They will raise or lower the prices of the gas. This war does not benefit anyone.
Mothers and fathers are loosing their children. Young men and women are dying. Children are dying before they know there is a God, or what nationality they are.
Why in the world would you support a war for oil. You do realize this is not used for hot oil treatments. Don't you?

It used to be a simply battle while Bush forty one did Desert Storm. It wasn't valued at the price of Bush forty three getting in following nine/eleven. Concentration on Afghanistan fallowing nine/eleven could had been understood, going after Saddam Hussein used to be ludicrous.

Worth what? 3500 American men and women dead. An unheard of deficit. World wide insecurity.
Or Sadaam dead. Iraq's oil under our thumb now. More wealth for the already wealthy. Fulfillment of the greed of the better off of the American public.
I know which way I would vote. Do you?

yes and no.
no, because 3500 k.i.a., and 24,000 w.i.a. to produce a country in chaos.
yes, because it brought out to light the communists undertones in this country, and just how far the American gov.would go to lie to us.
1. iraq had links to 9-11- which was disproven AFTER saddam was overthrown
2. iraq had wmd - which was also disproven AFTER saddam was overthrown
3.we needed to bring democracy to the region- if the majority wants us to leave and we are still there, WHAT KIND OF DEMOCRACY IS THAT?
have you ever wondered why popular votes (votes by the people) don't count, but the electoral college (special votes divided amongst states) do?

My answer is definitely No. However that's not what our leadership tends to believe. We need to ask our leaders how much more blood will it take to bring our soldiers and Marines home. Is it worth it to stick our future generations out there sitting like lame ducks. I have no respect for anyone who believes this conflict is in our best interest to resolve.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not that I am negative and do not support our troops....On the contrary ....I am a Veteran and continue to serve my country overseas and I assure you I support our young troops wherever they are sent to protect our most precious values and the freedom you and I are share because of their courageous efforts......It's the cause that I am failing to understand.
