We need to change lobbying laws. Oil CEO's are making record profits while record gas cost is through the roof. They make all the claims of, "It's because of world demand. It's the weather in the Gulf of Mexico. A rig broke down. Not enough refinery's." And blah blah blah.. But what really needs to happen is stop these lobbyists from giving these guys all the perks by supplying Senators and Representatives with money to run their campaigns. It sounds impossible, but we can vote out those in the Oil and energy companies pockets.

Walk, Bicycle or take public transportation one day a week and watch the prices fall.

What the world needs is another Rosa Parks in the face of big oil. The world changed for the better when those people boycotted the buses.

There is no greed involved. Oil and gas are commodities traded on the open market. The price is what it is just like coffee or orange juice. The oil companies have nothing to do with it and those who sell gas make very little money on it. It's just another commodity. If you want to do something, contact your congressmen and tell them you want to get America drilling for OIL everywhere possible.

If every single person made a point to stop traveling except for business and absolute necessities that would put a HUUUUUUGE dent in the fuel prices.

Also, we all need to write to our lawmakers and tell them that if they don't find a way to get some refineries built, like YESTERDAY that they will vote them out of office.

Simple - stop driving.

Did you think there was another way?

There is: develop an alternative energy source. Hydrogen fuel cells look promising - but they are probably at least 5 years away from even being introduced, let alone cost effective for us regular people.

Less consumption will lower the price. A drastic drop in consumption will result in a drastic cut in gas prices. I am for it. But I need my truck for work.
Lack of refineries is hurting us big time.

Simple but not easy. Use less. The law of supply & demand has not been overturned by the Supreme Court.

Eliminate the competition for oil and oil products. This would free up supply and reduce the prices....Therefore we need to nuke China, India, maybe Pakistan, and Russia to protect our backs.. that would drive supply way up and prices way down.

if EVERYONE stopped driving to work or anywhere else, even for just a few days, all at the same time, that would definatly get their attention. it would allow them time to build up supplies, too, so that there would be lower prices at the pump..
