The message is file dosent have a program associated with it for this action create an association in the folder options control panel

they have that message b/c the path to the program (aol) is no longer there. Just delete the icon(s)

Well you didn't mention what kind of file you are trying to open, but since taking AOL off your computer (good choice btw, AOL is terrible) caused the problem, I'm assuming it is a web link icon. To fix this, right click on the icon, click Open, make sure to select choose a program, and a box should show up. In this box, select another internet browser that you are currently using instead of AOL, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. Make sure the box is checked that says "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" and then click okay. Problem solved!

Right click on the icon and select "Delete". The reason for the error is that the AOL program , which the icon is looking for, was delted.

AOL is the hardest thing to remove from your computer. AOL puts things on your computer that you must format your hard drive to get rid of. AOL is the worst thing you could do to your PC.Bar none.
