I think as long as they are smashing records and making money, there are sure to be more Pirates films. As long as Depp would like to still star in them, that is.

Most likely not. If they do, they'll have to get a whole new cast in as most of the regualrs from the first three have said they're done with the Pirates franchise and the only person whos said they'd come back is Johnny Depp. Plus, the box office totals are way below what everyone was projecting. Spiderman 3 is outpacing Pirates right now by over $70 million.

More Pirates = more money... and those people really like money. So yeah I think there will be another. Lets hope the keep up to the great standards though.

of course there will. It's set up that way from the end of the last one.. And disney is making a shiteload of money from it and they are greedy for more...

I think there will be, but it won't continue where this one left off... I think, or am hoping, that it will be a prequel, so that we get the backstory to all of the stories we know... i.e Captain Jack & Barbossa's story, the REAL story of Davy Jones and his love, the backstory to Jack's debt to Davy Jones, etc. I think that's why, if you saw the clip at the end, they did that... they wanted to close THAT chapter so they could leave it open for the prequel, if they wanted to. This way, there's no need for Kiera (who has said she MAY want to move on).

Nobody has confirmed another movie -- but not one has said no, either.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer: "Who knows where that little boat will lead us?" he said. "Obviously we've thought of something because there is a hint of something at the end."
Verbinski: "We've all felt like we've finished the story of the governor's daughter and Port Royale and . . . the destiny of Will Turner. Whether there is the continued adventures of Jack Sparrow somewhere down the road, that would be a sort of start-over and would have to be a story that's worth telling."
So ... maybe.

Yeah, I definitely think they will. As long as they keep cranking out the big bucks, Johnny Depp agrees to play Jack Sparrow, and the script is moderately decent, it will keep going on. It's already set up for another possible plot searching for yet another seemingly unattainable treasure.

Yes there will be, they set it up at the end of the 3rd one, and I know someone who's mom is representing someone on the crew for the fourth one. Filming it in St. Augustine, FL, about the fountain of youth.

The third one was action packed... but it lacked character development for all of them. Atleast, that's what I think
I definitely hope there would be a fourth one
