I've been to two interviews last week and I thought I did very well in both of them. They both said to me that they will let me know by next week if I got the job. Why do employer's make you wait for a week, why don't they just pick a day and if you don't hear from them on that day then you obviously didn't get it. I can't stand the waiting. I don't think it's very professional to make a potential employer wait a week or two to see if they got the job. Does anyone else agree?

I agree. Often, they just don't have the b@@@@ to call and tell you you didn't get it.
Sometimes, they change their mind and don't hire anyone,, and other times they can't make a decision.
Yes, i too, would have more respect for a person who says," I will call you by Friday afternoon if you're the man I want for the job." I have interviewed people for jobs, and I used this approach-" i will call you by XXXX if you're the person I want to hire. "
Yes, it p>>>>>> you ( and me ) off but there's not much you can do.

you would be an employee...you work for them..they don't have to take your time into consideration if they don't wanna..they would find someone else....but yeah..it is inconvenient.
