My credit is bad but I need a place to stay. Besides the obvious of straightening my credit out, does anyone know how to get around this?

Rent from a private property owner like me, not a professionally managed property, who doesn't bother running credit reports.

Sometimes if you rent from an individual rather than through an agency, they won't check your credit.

Find a landlord who won't check your credit. Or one who doesn't care what your credit is. They're out there, but you may have to look.
