i am doing a math project, and for the volume do i just find out the sides its 1 inch thick (the wood/shape).

the easiest way to find the volume of an irregular object is to fill a measureable volume of water and then submerge the object and look at the amount of water that was displaced by doing so.

You will have to divide the irregular shape into a series of triangles or other figures, if possible, and then make all necessary measurements to compute all areas and comput their sum. Then volume = total area *1 in^3.
