.....Once an experience is integrated into long-term memory, it cannot be deleted from memory. It's "lost" only in the sense that it is hard to "recall" or find.

A memory is integrated into long-term memory once you think about it while it's in short-term memory. The more you think about it and the more different ways you think about it, the more "hooks" the memory will have for recall.

Each time you experience the memory, it will be in a new context of thought, which very well could change the memory. So a memory may change or evolve over time. So yes, in a sense, the memory is "false" because probably it's not only incomplete, but it has been revised over time.

On the other hand, memories retrieved using hypnotism may not be used in a court of law.

Our memories are very malleable. They change with time.
